Comfort of God - Pt 1

Finding Purpose in the Pressure

We often view suffering as an interruption to our lives, but the Apostle Paul suggests it might actually be an invitation. In the launch of our new series, The Comfort of God, we looked at the "gripping sequel" of 2 Corinthians. Paul writes from the trenches of real-world affliction — stonings, shipwrecks, and betrayal—to remind us that God is the "Father of mercies and God of all comfort."

Follow-Up Exercises:

  1. The "Comfort Audit": Spend 10 minutes in prayer asking God to highlight one specific time He comforted you in the past. Write it down.

  2. The Outreach Challenge: Identify one person in your circle (work, family, or neighborhood) who is currently going through a similar "squeeze" that you once survived. Send them a text or invite them to coffee just to listen.

  3. Deep Immersion: Read the entire book of 2 Corinthians (13 chapters) in one sitting this week to get the "big picture" of Paul’s heart.
