LFLG - Part 3

Loving God with Your Muchness: Beyond the Pew

This weekend, we hit the third milestone of our journey: Strength. While the heart ignites passion and the soul yields control, strength is where our devotion becomes outward action. It is the vigorous, costly, and joyful exertion of everything we have for the glory of God.

In our series, we’ve challenged the divide between the "sacred" and the "secular." Whether you are filing reports, raising children, or leading a ministry team, Colossians 3:23 reminds us: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord." Your workplace is your mission field, and your physical body is the temple that fuels that mission.

Follow-Up Exercises for the Week:

  1. The 10-Second Breath Prayer: Start every workday by placing your hand on your desk or tools and saying: "Lord, today’s tasks are Yours—help me work with all my heart for You."

  2. The Excellence Challenge: Pick one routine task this week—emails, chores, or meetings—and perform it with noticeably higher quality. Notice how this shift in "strength" changes your attitude.

  3. Temple Check-In: Revisit the tracker from Part 1. Focus on "Temple Care" this week by committing to two sessions of movement or a "Freedom Fast" from habits that dull your energy.

  4. Financial & Energy Investment: Look at your "Promised Land" threshold. Identify one "stretch commitment"—a mission trip, a new ministry role, or an increased tithe—that requires you to exert real strength.
